Areas of application

Where is winter construction
heating used?

🏗️
Concrete work in winter
Concrete must be processed and cured at a minimum of +5 °C. Heaters maintain the necessary temperature throughout the entire curing period.
🧱
Masonry & plastering
Mortar and plaster require minimum temperatures for hydration. Frost damage to freshly plastered surfaces causes significant consequential costs.
🪵
Screed drying
Fresh screed requires heat for controlled drying. Combined with dehumidification, readiness for floor covering is reached significantly faster.
🎨
Painting & coatings
Lacquers and paints must not be applied at temperatures below +5 °C. Heating ensures correct film formation and adhesion.
🔧
Assembly & installation work
Craftsmen need heated work areas for precision tasks. Minimum temperatures protect against errors and improve quality.
🏠
Renovations in occupied buildings
Residents must be protected from the cold during renovation work. Mobile heaters bridge downtime of the heating system.

Planning tips

What you should consider
when planning heating capacity

01
U-value of the building envelope
The poorer the insulation, the higher the heat loss and thus the heating demand. For shell constructions, plan with a value of 3.0 W/(m²K).
02
Air exchange rate
Air tightness is low on construction sites. High air exchange rates (up to 3/h) significantly increase the heating demand compared to finished buildings.
03
Safety margin
Always plan for a 20-30% performance reserve. Weather extremes, door openings, and unforeseen heat losses can increase demand at short notice.
04
Beware of CO danger
Direct-fired heaters (oil, gas) produce exhaust gases. Sufficient ventilation is mandatory. Use CO detectors and observe safety data sheets.
